New Zealand’s leading health and fitness programme for men aged 35 – 55
Welcome to The Apex Collective! Ryan and Jumper are excited to bring to New Zealand a brand new initiative that focuses holistically on building better men.
We address the basics such as nutrition and exercise, but add to it through discipline protocols. We combine all of this together in a community of like-minded men, who are not interested in being perfect, but rather want to be a better version of themselves for their families, friends, and importantly, for themselves!
The Apex Collective is run with our own app, and use of a private Facebook group. It is for men who have reached a point where they are frustrated with being unhealthy, overweight, stressed, anxious, or any combination of the above. We know from first hand experience that the protocols and programme we run (which is backed by science) that this helps men feel better, look better, and operate better.
Ryan and Jumper were driven to create TAC through a lack of visible options for New Zealand men. After both going through some extremely tough times in their respective personal lives, and being fortunate to make it out the other side, they made it their mission to help New Zealand men. They understand what it is to go through tough times, the effects that it has on you, and know first hand the importance of working and investing in your own health.
If you are looking for a one-man superman show, then we are not for you. If you are looking for a brotherhood of men who want to see each other succeed, then jump on board. The new you starts today.
If you have a niggling voice at the back of your head that is quietly (but sometimes a bit louder) consistently is giving yourself a hard time, it may well be you fall into this category.
Ryan and Jumper previously did. They knew, even when they tried to ignore the voice, that they were ultimately selling themselves short. And of course, that means giving less energy, focus, and ultimately life to their loved ones, friends, co-workers, and themselves.
We know all the signs and excuses. Tired. Brain fog. Excessive weight. Mental health challenges. Time poor. The belief that ANY progress is too far gone anyway.
That’s why, after much trial and error, with a whole lot of blood sweat and tears, they created The Apex Collective.
Drawing on Ryan’s extensive nutrition and gut health knowledge, paired with the sensible but still immensely tough programming from ex-cop Jumper, the first two steps are fairly commonplace. “Move more, eat better”. Sure.
What really sets TAC apart from anything else in New Zealand is that it doesn’t end there. This is paired with discipline protocols. These are released weekly and every week we build a stronger base of discipline, but also self-respect.
And the jewel of the crown, is our private Facebook group. This is where the Collective congregate, get meal ideas, check in, ask questions, set challenges and take that accountability even further. It is all of these parts woven together, that not only guarantees success in the short term, but helps preventing that dreading yo-yo effect. We believe in simple steps which help breed health in the long term.
At TAC – We Build Better Men.
But don’t just take our word for it. Read the testimonials below, from real kiwi men, with amazing real results. These men stepped outside their comfort zones, and got rewarded for it.

South Island born and bred, Ryan moved to Hamilton in the early 2000’s to complete his Degree in Health Science. From there went on to open Hamilton’s first 24 hour gym, with some 2500 members then opened a second gym a few years later.
To fit around Dad life better, he began an online coaching business in 2022 specialising in Gut Health and Nutrition where he has coached thousands of clients from all over New Zealand.
Ryan’s knowledge of the industry, his understanding of nutrition and gut health is incredibly deep and has helped untold numbers of people in their journey.
Ryan is a devoted dad and partner, and being a good Otago man, a Jimmys mutton pie lover and Highlanders supporter.
Previously a NZ Police officer of ten years, Jumper served as a member of the Armed Offender Squad, a role which required a high level of physical training and operative skills.
He was able to pass the hardest physical test the NZ Police have to offer, the Special Tactical Group selection course – 4 brutal days of immensely increasingly difficult challenges (including 4 hours sleep total!).
To gain more flexibility for family life, he left police and pursued a career in health and fitness, opening one of Auckalands best boutique face-to-face personal training studios. His passion lies in the science behind programming and pushing people firmly, but fairly.
Like Ryan, Jumper is a devoted dad and partner, however much prefers a good Maketu pie and the Chiefs!

The Apex Collective (TAC) is the first of its kind in New Zealand. It is the only holistic health and fitness programme designed specifically for men. It encompasses nutrition, workouts, discipline protocols and has a functioning community. This is run through TAC’s own app and a private Facebook group.
This programme is designed for New Zealand males aged 35 - 55.
TAC is the only holistic programme available that focuses on all aspects of male health - mental, physical, emotional.
Definitely not. You just need to show up and start investing in yourself.
TAC supplies you with a personal nutrition plan, a workout plan with gym or at-home options, and each week for ten weeks we cover off a discipline protocol, many of which help with reducing stress, positioning you in a better place for life’s challenges.
Right here bro. On this page. Click the button
The men we work with are 35 - 55 years old. If you are outside this range, but believe TAC would be a good fit, please message us via social media or email [email protected] and we will consider your placement in the programme.
Yes. A pair of dumbbells are a minimum, ideally with a bench and some resistance bands as well. Or a gym membership/access to a gym.
We don’t have a trial period. What we do have is real testimonials however.
At the risk of sounding vague, this is different for everyone. However, if you commit to the programme seriously you will likely see results within just a few weeks.
Hell yes you can. Minimum requirement to start is a pair of dumbbells, and ideally a bench and some resistance bands as well.
The Apex Collective has its own app available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
We are all about consistency. Life happens. But we are making men who want to consistently be there for themselves, and their loved ones. If you miss one, pick up as soon as you can!
Yes to both - we have had successful members who do both. If you are busy (but based at home), a home gym set up will work wonders. If you travel, a NZ-wide gym franchise membership is extremely helpful.
It sure is. The food and programming is easy to simple. In fact, that’s how it has been designed. If it gets too complicated, people lose interest, Our app even has video demonstrations of the relevant exercises.
A weekly cost of $37, with a one-off on-boarding fee of $97. We believe you will not get better value for this cost anywhere in New Zealand.
No. Our only options are you’re in or not!
As our programme is a weekly recurring fee through Stipe, we do not offer any payment plans.
We don’t offer a standard money-back offer, simply because we know if you commit 100% you will get results. If you are still on the fence about committing, we understand - please look at our reviews from real men who have been on The Apex Collective and have got real world results.
No. Ryan and Jumper pride themselves on being transparent with costs involved. The programme weekly fee may go up in the future to new , but as we are ‘old-school’, the weekly price you commit to will be the price you pay for as long as you are continuously on the programme. This is commonly referred to as ‘Grandfathering’. It’s a sign of respect and loyalty to our long-serving clients.
There are all sorts of metrics you can enter on our app that we can see and manage. Primarily accountability is through fortnightly check-ins. We ask that our clients do not miss the check in requirements, and this is an important part of progress.
During your time on The Apex Collective you will get both one-on-one coaching (through the nutrition plan and fortnightly check-ins) and also participate in group settings.
Ryan and Jumper have extensive knowledge of and application of health and fitness. They are dedicated to ensuring you get results. The catch is, you have to do the work. If you approach the work with integrity, you will get results. But they are there to help you at every point of your journey.
The Apex Collective consists of a ten week on-boarding programme. This is where we introduce a nutrition plan, start working out, and week by week introduce discipline protocols which are a central point for our men in terms of total growth. The ten weeks required to complete the on-boarding programme is the minimum commitment we require. At the conclusion of the ten weeks, you have completed the protocols but continue applying them and growing/kicking ass for as long as you want! If you decide that TAC isn’t for you, after the ten weeks it is simply one week’s notice to cancel your membership.
We certainly do. Coaches Ryan and Jumper are immensely proud of the men who have already been involved with The Apex Collective. The successes are sometimes obvious, sometimes not. Weight loss, muscle gain, improved confidence, feeling younger and fitter, and improved mental health. We are entirely committed to our mission: Building Better Men.
